Spring comes to the Virginia Creeper Trail
Although its full glory is still a few days away, spring has finally come to the Virginia Creeper Trail in the form of cherry blossoms and a myriad of other colorful flowers. Most of the trees are still in the “bud” stage, but a few are already sporting their new leaves in that typically beautiful light-green spring hue.
One can already see honeybees “working” on several varieties of blossoms, and within a week the amazing show that is springtime will most surely be in full production. And what a wonderful production it is!
The Creeper Trail offers a great walk or bike ride any time of year, but as the dull colors of winter transition into the full glory of spring, it really becomes something spectacular indeed. This is the perfect time of year to visit historic Abingdon, and while you’re here be sure to take along your camera and hit the Virginia Creeper Trail for a show you’ll likely never forget.
