White's Mill >
White's Mill, established in 1790, is one of Virginia's oldest standing grist mills.
Her large stone grinding wheel provided flour for families far and wide for over a century.
The wooden building even survived an attack by Union forces during the Civil War!
One of Virginia's most beloved historic sites, White's Mill has been designated a Virginia Historic Landmark and placed in the US National Register of Historic Places.

Cummings Cabin >
Around 1773, Parson Cummings (the first minister in
Abingdon) of Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church built a log
cabin for his home.
The parson Cummings Cabin is now located in the Sinking
Spring Cemetery.

The Virginia
Creeper Trail >
The Virginia Creeper Trail begins in Abingdon and extends
34.5 miles on an abandoned railroad bed to Whitetop Station
near the North Carolina Border.
The "Creeper Trail" is famous far and wide as a
favorite for hiking, bicycling, and horse riding.
Bring your own bike or rent one for a day at one of several
local bike shops.
You can ride a shuttle to the far end of the trail at
Whitetop Station and then ride your bike back to town, much
of the ride being downhill!
